Obituary
Ellsworth (Billy) Monroe Helm 89, life long resident of Manatee County passed away 3-11-10, preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. Survivors include a son, Ellsworth H. Helm (Kelly), a daughter, Edna Marie Phillips (Brian) of Bradenton. Siblings, Brooks Collier of Palatka FL, Jacquelyn Reid (Robert) of Clearwater FL, & Egbert Helm (Cornelia) of Bradenton FL, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Billy worked in the nurseries and packing house industries, started a landscaping business with his brother Charles in the early fifties, and later started his own landscaping business. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his nephews Jack and Powell. He spent his retirement traveling by motor home with his wife making sure they had visited all fifty states. His favorite statement was ''Using an adding machine weakens the mind''. Billy will be missed by all. Services will be held at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home 720 Manatee Ave. W. March 20, 2010, Visitation 11 a.m., Memorial at noon in Chapel.
