Obituary

Waterbury-Mrs. Jean M. (Stanczyk) Scollay, age: 87, of 111 Ferndale Avenue, died Tuesday at Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck. She was wife of the late Robert G. Scollay. Mrs. Scollay was born in Naugatuck, CT on June 16, 1922, daughter of the late Charles & Josephine (Sloamcenski) Stanczyk. She had lived most of her life in Waterbury, and she was a member of Holy Savior Polish National Catholic Church in Naugatuck. She was a certified aerobics instructor, teaching water aerobics at the Naugatuck YMCA to seniors for many years. Jean enjoyed polka music, cooking and her many trips to Aruba. She leaves: 3 daughters: Patricia Scollay of Waterbury Barbara “Bobbi” Cappello of Bethany, Jean Rose of Florida. 1 brother: John “Jack” Stanczyk of Florida, 2 grandaughters: Deborah Brisebois and Sherri Mancini, 3 great grandchildren: Jaclyn & Dean Brisebois, and Chase Mancini Mrs. Scollay was predeceased by: Her grandson: Greg Lubitski, Jr. Her son in law: Peter Cappello Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 at 10:30AM from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to Holy Savior Polish National Catholic Church, 118 Prospect Street, for services at 11AM. Burial will follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9AM to 10:30AM.
