Obituary

Middlebury – Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Ogenskis) Squatriglia, age 96, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away at Middlebury Convalescent Home on Thursday, December 31, 2009. She was the widow of P. William Squatriglia. Mrs. Squatriglia was born in Naugatuck on July 14, 1913, a daughter of the late Mary Anna (Tarosas) and Benjamin J. Ogenskis, Sr. She was a life-long resident of Naugatuck. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and the former Post Junior College, Waterbury. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Francis Church, Naugatuck. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three sons, Robert and Betty (Powell) Squatriglia of Conway, SC, Raymond and Joan (DeLucia) Squatriglia of Middlebury, William and Mary Ellen (Cavanaugh) Squatriglia of Naugatuck, and one daughter, Linda Oloskey of Naugatuck. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Rob (Lisa) Squatriglia, Beth (Tommy) James, Katie (Shawn) Bence and Stephen (Mary) Squatriglia of North Carolina; Sarah Squatriglia of Naugatuck; Ray Squatriglia of Naugatuck and Doug (Jamie) Squatriglia of Waterbury; and Allen and Andrea Oloskey of Naugatuck; and ten great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her parents; two brothers, John and Benjamin, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Ann; and her beloved husband, P. William. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 5 at 10:15am from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8pm.
