Obituary
Bethany - Madelyn E. (Edell) Gambordella, 86, of Hilldale Road, Bethany, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Alzheimer’s Resource Center in Plantsville. She was the widow of Robert C. Gambordella.
Mrs. Gambordella was born in Wallingford, CT on October 30, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Smith) Edell. She was a longtime Bethany resident where she made her home for over 50 years and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She retired from Yale University where she was an executive administrative assistant for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening.
She is survived by her loving family; three sons, Peter R. Gambordella and wife Donna of Clinton, Michael C. Gambordella and Nan Rubens of Holden, MA, and Robert D. Gambordella and wife Theresa of Bethany; three daughters, Lynn S. Libby of Keene, NH, Susan B. Cass and Phil of Columbus, OH, and Nancy E. Skinner and husband Jeff of Naugatuck; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 12 at 11am at Christ Episcopal Church, 526 Amity Road, Bethany. There are no calling hours.
