Obituary
Florence McCranie went to be with her Lord November 6, 2009. At that time she was living with her daughter in Tucker, GA. She was born Florence Gertrude Opp, January 6, 1919, in Maroa IL; and was a 60-year resident of Bradenton. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 70 years, Robert Ernest McCranie, Jr.; 3 daughters, Nina McCranie Henry ordained minister and missionary, McAllen, TX (spouse Phillip J. “Jerry“); Claire McCranie “Cim” Hirsch, artist, Gibsonton, FL (spouse Richard); and Valerie McCranie Cohrs, ordained pastor, Tucker GA (spouse Robert J. “Bob“); 1 son, Robert Ernest “Roby” McCranie III, CPA, Inverness FL (spouse Lynne); 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; one niece and one nephew. Florence was an Honor Society graduate of Plant High School, class of 1937, Tampa FL; a member of the Pilot Club of Bradenton for many years; and a charter member of Trinity Methodist Church, Bradenton where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Miriam Guild for many years. She and her husband were the owners and operators of their own business in Bradenton for a number of years until their retirement at the end of 1978. It was first called Manatee Home Supply and then renamed McCranie’s. Funeral service will be at Griffith Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton, on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2 PM. with visitation from 1-2 PM on that same day. Interment will be in Manasota Memorial Park, Oneco FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 500, Tucker GA 30084
