Obituary
Naugatuck – Mrs. Jennie (Schwarzenberg) Smoley, age 91, of Arch Street, Naugatuck, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Peter Smoley.
Mrs. Smoley was born in Naugatuck on January 16, 1918, a daughter of the late John and Magdalena (Skowronek) Schwarzenberg. She was a life-long resident of Naugatuck and retired after many years of service from Ridson Manufacturing. Later in life, she enjoyed travelling to Europe and Asia with her husband.
She leaves a nephew, Atty. Bruce Brenia of Naugatuck; a grandnephew and several grandnieces.
Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Smoley; three sisters, Helen Brenia, Sophie Mudrick, and Bessie Meyer; two nieces, Carol Reznik and Cheryl Mudrick.
A graveside service will be held in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
