Obituary

Naugatuck – Mr. Dustin J. Diver, age 31, of Hillside Avenue, Naugatuck passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009. Dustin was born in Waterbury on July 18, 1978, a son of Douglas and Deborah (Renzoni) Diver. He was a life-long Naugatuck resident and graduated from Naugatuck High School 1996 and Naugatuck Valley Community College in 1998; he attended SCSU where he played for three years and became an assistant baseball coach. While there, he broke a school record. Baseball was Dustin’s passion, he played it since he was eight years old and at every school he attended as well as in town baseball and softball leagues. He worked at many baseball camps in town and uniquely won a sportsman trophy in every league he played in throughout his life. He was active in the Naugatuck Hall of Fame committee and was recently voted in as President. He loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Currently, he was employed by the Naugatuck Board of Education as a custodian at Hillside Middle School. Dustin has a passion for life; touching many lived in a unique way. He was the “rock” for all who knew him. He leaves his father, Douglas Diver, retired Naugatuck Firefighter; his mother, Deborah Diver, a teacher at City Hill Middle School; his sister, Danielle Diver; maternal grandparents Daniel and Evelyn Renzoni; paternal grandmother, Jean Diver; his aunts, Danielle Lieder and husband Richard, Denise Wilkins and husband Dave, Leslie Diver, Shelly Fallon and husband Michael; his uncles, Dan Renzoni, Jr., Mark Diver and wife Terri, Dwight Diver and wife Donna; ten cousins; a niece, Ariel Diver-Pierre who was the light of his life. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Edwin Diver; great-grandparents, Gina Renzoni, Anne and John Szymerski, Edith Woodside, and Margaret and Arthur Diver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 31 at 9am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Friends are requested to meet directly at the church at 8:45am. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Peter J.
